You have got to get in on our bible studies! If you are a member or not our Thursday night studies will take your understanding of what the church is growing in and talking about to the next level. Our bible studies are a time for questions, digging deep, wrestling with the text, and really taking every Sunday’s sermon to the next level in understanding and application. What really has the people at grace coming to bible study whenever they possibly can is that we are deliberately carrying on a discussion about what God has for us to hear and respond to every Sunday morning through the preaching of His word. What we have found is this results in an ongoing conversation throughout the whole week of what God is speaking to us about as a church body. To continue to encourage this conversation we are also communicating online through our blog about all facets of the word that is actively at work in us. The goal in this is that the word of God would not be a once a week or twice a week dose and then we starve the rest of the week, but instead we are constantly abiding in the living word of God. If you are interested in joining in the conversation then make time in your schedule on Thursday nights and join us!
Our weekly Bible study/prayer meeting format has been very edifying. It facilitates my study and application of Sunday’s sermon at a deeper level. This in turn helps me to evangelize and disciple others throughout the week more effectively. I also receive much encouragement and inspiration from my brothers and sisters in the Lord as they share their insights and experiences. Praise to God!
As we move forward in our understanding of scripture I liken Thursday night prayer to a decadent dessert after an amazing feast. So much information is packed into one sermon that it’s so refreshing to step back and analyze what we are being taught as a group, and really wrap our heads around Greg’s presentation of the Word of The Lord, with the freedom to ask questions if one is inclined to do so. This is another reflection on the unity we have through Christ Jesus, and the Will of God bringing us together besides Sunday morn. What a blessing indeed.
