From the elders.
As an elder at Grace Community it is my desire that we would be continually growing in our relationship with God. Who is God? What is a Christian? What does it look like for man to be in relationship with God? These are critical questions that need discussing and answering from scripture.
If you don't really know the God you are supposed to be in relationship with then how good can your relationship be. Don't be satisfied with mere opinion on these issues, do the hard work of digging for the answers.
"if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives generously to all without reproach." James 1:5.
what's happening at Grace
Seeing Fruit
Over this past year I have come to realize that Grace is my family and I thank God for that means of grace. One of the major themes in 1 Peter is that "Christians are visiting foreigners and resident aliens" in this world. We will face hostility from this world if we are truly living a life for Christ. At Grace we all share that similar trait of being foreigners in this world and we support one another in our affairs to live a life for Christ in amidst of a hostile world. I rely on Grace very heavily and I have received much love in the form of fellowship. After much toil in this world, I look forward to the next encounter where I will be able to fellowship with my brother and sisters. Whether it is the Sunday service, Thursday prayer meeting or just hanging out talking about our past week, Grace has always been that means of grace from God to help me stay focused for the kingdom of God.

Grace Community Church: A Memoir
Early in 1994 Robert Leyland expressed a personal call of God to start a new church in London, Ontario. He had a sense that God wanted him to start an international church. On September 18, 1994 the newly formed Grace Community Church held its first worship service in a public school. The members of the church represented was many nationalities, including Filipinos, Chileans, Ghanaians, Chinese, and Canadians whose ancestry was mainly European.
A core value of this new church was simplicity because there were people from various cultures, English being a secondary language for many of them. This value was reflected in the messages from the pulpit and in the singing of simple choruses. The church experienced moderate growth in numbers and the membership was stable. However, due to its small size and the high cost of overhead, Pastor Leyland served bi-vocationally.

Why come to Grace Community Church?
Being the church for one another
Welcome to Grace Community website. The goal of this website is to provide its members with an ongoing community of encouragement and teaching throughout the week. No longer do we need to feel like we are gasping for breath between the times we meet together, instead we can be encouraged to living faithfully each day.
If you are new to our church, or this website, get to know us, take advantage of our resources, “The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith” 1 Timothy 1:5.
Community
Get involved and help your community.
After becoming a member of Grace Community, the word “community” develops a much deeper meaning.
When you first think of community the idea of a local group with similar interests comes to mind, but at grace we firmly believe a church community is intended to be those believers who do life together. A group of people who are not just randomly located in a common area, but instead a gathering of people who have been placed in a church together by the sovereign hand of God.
Whether a church is big or small we believe it is the providence of God that has established that community, and as such our view of the church is not something to be taken lightly but instead with the passion and vigour of one who knows deeply that belonging to this specific body of believers is something that God has orchestrated for building up of everyone involved. We are, for each other, one of the ways that God provides continued grace for strength and growth as we work out our salvation here on this earth.
Bible Studies
The word is alive.
You have got to get in on our bible studies! If you are a member or not our Thursday night studies will take your understanding of what the church is growing in and talking about to the next level. Our bible studies are a time for questions, digging deep, wrestling with the text, and really taking every Sunday's sermon to the next level in understanding and application. What really has the people at grace coming to bible study whenever they possibly can is that we are deliberately carrying on a discussion about what God has for us to hear and respond to every Sunday morning through the preaching of His word.
What we have found is this results in an ongoing conversation throughout the whole week of what God is speaking to us about as a church body. To continue to encourage this conversation we are also communicating online through our blog about all facets of the word that is actively at work in us. The goal in this is that the word of God would not be a once a week or twice a week dose and then we starve the rest of the week, but instead we are constantly abiding in the living word of God. If you are interested in joining in the conversation then make time in your schedule on Thursday nights and join us!
